Floral Fantasy by Belle Avena

In a world that uses AI to create fantasy environments impossible to replicate in a real-life setting, I wanted to challenge myself to create an editorial style shoot set in a fantasy realm without any use of AI. I had a great team who put in diligent work to bring this fantasy look to life that helped me design the perfect setting around the photos I modeled. All the editing took place in photoshop using photobashing techniques with images from Pinterest or 3D assets modeled in Blender.

Kennedy Ynclan's photography grounds the fantastical with a quiet, unshakeable intimacy. Avena moves through each scene with the ease of someone who belongs there, whether reclining inside the cupped petals of an oversized lotus or perching on an orchid like a figure from a myth that predates language. Jack Alexander's draped, gauze-wrapped designs feel genuinely botanical, as though the garments grew rather than were sewn, while Merith Schrodinger's makeup burns with the saturated flush of living flowers and Nico Exos's nail art adds flickers of color that the eye catches only slowly, like light moving through water.

What holds the series together is a principle that is both aesthetic and philosophical: that beauty made by human hands carries a frequency that no algorithm can replicate. Each composite image asks the viewer to slow down, to look for the seam between the real and the invented, and to find that the seam itself is where the meaning lives. Floral Fantasy is not an escape from the world but a rigorous argument for what imagination, skill, and collaboration can still build within it.
